“I think that if God forgives us we must forgive ourselves. Otherwise, it is almost like setting up ourselves as a higher tribunal than Him.”
C.S. Lewis
I have to confess that even though I know that God has forgiven me from my sins, I have a hard time forgiving myself for the stupid things I have done. I know that we can’t fix our sins, if we could, it would not have been necessary for Christ to pay for them himself. We can however ask God to bless those people we have hurt, if we can be a blessing to those people personally we should. We can also help people who are currently going through situations that are similar to the one we caused.
Have any of you had issues with self-forgiveness? If you have figured out how to let go of your past, I would appreciate your input.
I’ve struggled myself with letting go of the past.
I learned that all we have is the current moment that we actually live in. We cannot change what has been done, and in the current, we can only choose our future decisions wisely. Keeping our eyes on Christ and what He has freed us from: all of those things that pride accuses us of, is the foundation to living a joyful life. The life we are living in the now.
Thank you
You’re welcome. Blessings to you!
