Do we follow a creation of our own minds, or the way, the truth, and the life?

Dusty Bible

Matthew 15:8-9 King James Version (KJV)
8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

I have become progressively worried about people who try to mold God into their own image, that claim to be Christians. They have a habit of picking their favorite verses and changing it to match their own wants. They try to turn him into a magic genie, say the magic words with enough faith, and abracadabra health wealth and prosperity will all be yours! If it were that simple why were the disciples persecuted, imprisoned, and most of them were murdered? Did the men who had enough faith to be willing to die for Christ, not have enough faith to get God’s health, wealth, and prosperity?

Many claim that God doesn’t care what we believe, as long as we are sincere.
When the Bible says

Romans 1:25 King James Version (KJV)
Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

While God may indeed take some sincere beliefs into account, it is clear in scripture, that he won’t do it in the way most mean when they talk about sincerity.

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

John 14:6 King James Version (KJV)
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

It is my great desire that all would come to know and love the God of the Bible, but you are certainly free to reject him. Love him or reject him, but do it based on who he is, not on what someone else said he is, or what you want him to be, but who he has revealed himself to be, as found in the Holy Scriptures.
He isn’t always who we want him to be, but he is ALWAYS, what we need him to be.
