If we were perfect, we wouldn’t need Christ. We, however, should not be the scapegoats for every crime against humanity. Many of the things that we get blamed for are totally unscriptural, therefore it isn’t Christianity that is to blame.
Matthew 5:44-47
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
Real Christians believe in the Bible and do their best to follow the Bible.
Yes, we do mess up, sometimes badly, but we are not following Christ when we do.
Any so-called diety can be abused by people who are seeking power more than God. The words “God said it” has a lot of power, and a person who doesn’t know their scripture can be convinced to do awful things, but that can be said about many groups. One such group was the Nazis many of the people in Nazi Germany were good people before Hitler figured out how to turn them into monsters. No, Hitler did not worship a Jewish carpenter named Jesus. No, he did not love his enemies, his state-approved Bible was a tiny portion of the real Bible because his beliefs could not accommodate most of the beliefs of real Christians.
It is estimated that in the past 100 years, governments under the banner of atheistic communism have caused the deaths of somewhere between 40,472,000 and 259,432,000 human lives.
I have seen Christianity blamed for so many things, but if we look behind the curtain of what we have been told, the lies get discovered.
Another lie often told about Christianity is that Christian’s caused it. The actual cause of the Crusades was that the Muslims had taken over two-thirds of Christian controlled lands. Yes, we did declare the Crusades but only after hundreds of years of them being at war with us.
Any time you hear of terrible violent deaths of innocent people, you have every right to believe that the people doing the killing are not Christians, even if they claim to be.
There also may be things that you haven’t been told about the situation that may shift the way you look at things.
2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
