Are Christians Less Intelligent Than Atheists?

Today I want to shed light on a nasty little “fact” that regularly makes the rounds online: Studies show that Christians are less intelligent than atheists. This statement is proudly tossed about by atheists who want to reinforce their claims that religion is for the poor, ignorant, and unintelligent. And you know what? The statement is true…a number of studies have found a negative relationship between intelligence and religiousness (the more intelligent a person is, the less likely they are to be religious). Does that mean people can legitimately say, based on these studies, that Christians are less intelligent than atheists? Absolutely not.

  1. I am not unintelligent, and I love my God. The
Bible says, that the fool, has said in his heart there is no God.

One can be very intelligent and go to hell, and someone, not so intelligent can go to heaven. The wise man builds his house upon the rock and that rock is Jesus Christ.

I might not be very smart after all, but I know Jesus died for my sins, and I am a sinnervsaved by grace.

    1. I think that you may have missed the point of this article. There is a rumor with atheist that we are stupid.
If a kid told you that they just saw a living rainbow colored unicorn, would you pay attention? Unless you were humoring your own kid, probably not.
That is the way that atheist look at us, like unintelligent kids talking about our imaginary friend.
These people are ignoring the Gospel, because they think we are stupid. If we want them to listen to us, we must start loving God with our minds again.

  2. Thank you. I am a Christian, and I hold a doctorate in molecular biology. I’ve grown rather tired of the “Christians are uneducated” argument, and I’m amused by people waving evolution in my face when they know less about the theory than I do.

    1. Anytime! If it were not for smart Christians that were able to answer my questions, and teach me logic, I don’t think that I would be a Christian today.
