Have we Forgotten what Judging even Is?

I can’t tell you how many times someone has judged me for judging!  The minute someone says ” you shouldn’t” you know the next thing that will come out of their mouth is a judgement.  So when you tell someone that they shouldn’t judge, you are judging them!  If it is wrong to judge,  it is wrong to tell a person that they should not judge.

No one ever says “Stop judging me!”  when you tell them they did a good job, but you are judging them.
When someone reports a crime we rarely say “You shouldn’t judge!”

Judging isn’t necessarily a nasty thing to do to someone.  According to Merriam-Webster   the main definition of judging is   to form an opinion about something or someone through careful weighing of evidence and testing of premises.

I don’t think God wants us to stop forming opinions, or to stop weighing evidence.   What God wants is for us to be careful about our judging.  He wants us to be as loving as humanly possible.

Is it loving to refuse to tell someone who has a dangerous lifestyle that they should be careful? NO, if you refuse to tell a person with a dangerous lifestyle  to be careful, you are saying that you don’t care if that person dies, or kills someone else!  That is hateful!
